On Saturday, my family and I went to the Celtic Festival. E met us later and missed the taking of this picture. I hadn’t been in six years! The last time I went I had my best friend with me, and we took funny pictures at this stop sign. Naturally, when I saw it, I had to re-create one of the pictures. (I can’t locate the original, but if I find it I’ll put it up.) What would a Celtic Festival be without bagpipes? (Quiet is the answer to that.) There was a bagpipe competition going on all day. They all played the same song. For the same length of time. All day. I had nightmares about bagpipes.
Saturday night we all ended up back at my parents’ house and watched Lincoln. I almost made it all the way to the end. I fell asleep when there were about 45 minutes left. I just couldn’t do it. PS – Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in it and I’m a little disappointed by that. I can’t take him seriously, which meant I couldn’t take the movie seriously. But Daniel Day-Lewis is THE MAN. (What’s with all the hyphenated names, dudes?)
Sunday I went to E’s parents’ house for a birthday party. It was tons of fun and I didn’t take any pictures. This last picture is of me at about 10:30 last night trying not to fall asleep while we worked out plans for E’s cousin’s wedding in Florida next month. It took three whole hours, but we finally coordinated flights, hotels, and a rental car. I never want to think about it again. Also, my feet were freezing so E made me wear his shoes. Hence the picture.
There you have it. Kind of short and sweet. It was a fun and busy weekend, and I think my days of having free time are over until June. But this is good news for all of you — more weekend updates with actual substance!
I’m out of here. Metaphoriacally, though, because my whole leg is asleep and I don’t think I could physically get out of here if I wanted to.
