Spring Favorites

Alright ladies and... more ladies. I love "love lists." I'm nosy and always on the hunt for the best new stuff. Now that it's "officially" Spring (even though there's snow on the ground and I hate it all), it's the perfect time to add new makeup and clothes into my rotation! Today I'm going to share with you my current favorite stuff.

1. Lorac Eye Shadow Trio - Okay, truth time: I don't actually have this. I actually bought this, but I'm almost positive the colors are the same, and they are amazing. So I suggest going cheaper and buying the trio. The light one is the perfect shimmery shade, and the medium is a great complement. I haven't been brave enough to try the dark shadow yet. Anyone have tips on how to pull that off without looking like Avril Lavigne?

2. Bare Minerals First Resort Bronzing Kit - Guys. I. am. OBESSESED. with this. I'm so incredibly pale and I have freckles, so I was a bit apprehensive about this, but it was totally worth it. I use the fan brush to apply it to my forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. I don't contour (because wtf is that?) so I just mix all the colors. If you're really good at makeup and stuff (I'm so not), then this would be really awesome because all the colors can be used to create your perfect face. Seriously. And the lipgloss it comes with? Perfection. It's coral, but it's not a scary coral. I promise.

3. Target Skirt - Black and white is the best choice for so many reasons. You can pair this skirt with any color, and it's great for these transition months. I wore it recently with tights and a sweater, but I can't wait until it warms up and I can wear it with a blouse and some heels. For $20 I think it was a steal. I'll be wearing this well into next year.

4. Butter London Trout Pout - I have to be honest, judging from the color online I either thought this was going to be bright or a pastel. It's neither. The website describes it as a canteloupe color, but I'm not sure I agree. I would say salmon. I didn't like it at first, but it's really growing on me. It's a great Spring color, and that's what we're going for, right?

5. Hunter Original Tall Gloss - Pillar Box Red - I pretty much live in my Hunters year-round, but with Spring in the air, I know the rain will be coming. And of course there's still snow, so that just gives me more excuses to wear them. I have a pet peeve about wet feet, so you can imagine how much I love these. I'm SO glad I caved and bought them last year.

I could probably add a million things to this list, but these are what I'm in love with rightthissecond. What are some of your favorites right now? Clothes, makeup, skincare, whatever. I told you -- I'm nosy. Tell me all about it!

eShakti Review (Round 2)

**I received this dress in exchange for my honest review.

This post has been a long time coming. I honestly feel bad that it's taken me so long to get it together, AND I don't even have a picture of me in the dress. #slacking

eShakti contacted me once again to review one of their dresses. This honestly has to be one of my favorite online clothing companies. I love the fact that you can customize every part of what you order. They have tops, skirts, and dresses. And now, with wedding planning in full swing (kinda sorta), I am seriously considering making my bridesmaids order from eShakti. It's basically guaranteed that everything will fit correctly, their color choices are amazing, and you just can't go wrong.

Here's the dress I chose to order for this review:
I didn't realize this, but the details are hard to see. The dress is mostly gray, and it has black, white, and yellow keys on it. And of course a matching belt (that comes with the dress! Win!).

Once you choose your clothing item, you have to decide if you want to order a standard size, or if you want to customize. Then you have to put in your height so that if you adjust the length of the dress they can measure it correctly. Both times I've ordered from them I've chosen a standard size. My only gripe -- which is totally my own fault -- is that I chose not to customize and the chest/armpit area has been a little too small both times. So, to any busty ladies who may be thinking about going with a standard size, go up one. Everything else will fit the same!

Once all that's done, you can make it your own!!

For my dress, I changed the neckline to a wide square (I didn't like that weird little slit thing). I also made it knee-length. I kept the sleeves the same. When I wore it, I paired it with a mustard sweater and some flats. So cute.

I will always recommend this company, so if you haven't yet, you should check them out! They offer $25 off to every new person who registers, and they have some totally adorable spring clothes right now!

You can also check them out on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest

I Promise I'm Not Drowning

So...... Here I am.

This is just a quick little update to let you all know that I'm alive and well. And I'm also surviving my master's classes and wedding planning. Barely. Yeesh.

Here's a speedy run-down of what's been going on in my life, and therefore keeping me away from this blog.
  • I'm knee-deep in schoolwork. And my professor for this course sucks.
  • A new company took over the contract I work on, so I've been buried in paperwork.
  • The same new company messed up my paycheck pretty royally, so I've been dealing with that. (Even after all the paperwork I sent them, they still couldn't figure out what state I live in and have me paying taxes for the wrong place. Ugh.)
Funny Workplace Ecard: My boss's incompetence is an inspiration that one day someone as incompetent as me could be the boss.
Except that I'm not incompetent.
  • Erich and I have been waiting almost a month to go see the venue where we want to have our ceremony. Not being able to get down there has kept us from setting a date. We finally get to go Saturday!!
  • We went to Florida at the end of February to visit my mom. More on that later, maybe.
  • We're planning a trip to Texas in May for a wedding.
  • We're attempting to plan my 25th birthday. (July 26th in case you're wondering/want to get me something. :] )
I still do this every year.
I realize it's a little early for this kind of excitement, but I feel like I won't stop being excited about anything until after the wedding. I'm just too happy. Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Oh, and an addition (why is it that I always think of good stuff after I hit publish?):  I finally understand the hype around Fireball. My life will never be the same.
